KOTA KINABALU: Sabahans are lucky people as they get to live peacefully in a multiracial and multireligious state as everyone is able to get along in harmony, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said.
“This situation allows us to celebrate all festivals with full respect and tolerance and it is among the factors that has made Sabah the best example in Malaysia where multiracial and multireligious communities can coexist in peace and harmony,” Musa said in a speech elivered by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai at the launch of the annual Gaya Christmas celebration here yesterday evening.
Musa said the peace and prosperity enjoyed by Sabahans was the result of a stable and sustainable government.

“We realize that with a fragile government we will not be able to enjoy the social stability and progress that we have today.

“However, all of this was not easily achieved because it needed the support and cooperation of all quarters including leaders and the rakyat.
“We need to realize that economic and social prosperity as well as strong unity would not be possible without political stability,” he stressed.
“What is important is that the cooperation and support from all of you will contribute to the success of government policies and programs that are being implemented throughout the state,” he said.
