Rebate term extended

Kota Kinabalu: Registered domestic users in Sabah and Labuan will continue to enjoy the RM20 rebate on monthly electricity bill as the Federal Government had agreed to extend the programme until December next year.
Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, who is also Sabah Minister of Infrastructure Development, said in average, 79,310 registered domestic users in Sabah and Labuan were enjoying the rebate.
"As at November, 19.7 per cent of the registered domestic users in Sabah and Labuan, who numbered 401,850, are eligible to receive the incentive," he said in a statement.
He said the Government had spent almost RM40.2 million to give the RM20 rebate on electricity bill to eligible users since the programme was launched on Oct 1, 2009.
Pairin said eligible recipients of the electricity rebate who still received their bills were also advised to check the bills carefully before making any payment.
The rebate was given with the aim at allowing the low-income group to enjoy electricity and, at the same time, reducing their burden to pay electricity bill.

  2. Kalau tiada rebat pun rakyat kena bersyukur juga sebab kalau belum ada bekalan elektrik, bayaran untuk minyak lagi mahal.
