PM - Opposition pledge to increase Sabah’s oil royalty will kill off interest in developing petroleum industry

BEAUFORT: The opposition's promise of increasing Sabah's oil royalty from the present 5% to 20% will kill off interest in developing the offshore petroleum industry, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.

The Prime Minister said under the current arrangement, petroleum companies continue to tap into marginal fields that would eventually spell increased revenue for Sabah.

''This will not happen with the Opposition's promise of a 20% royalty share for Sabah. There will be no incentive for petroleum companies to develop our fields,'' he said when launching Yayasan Sabah roadshow in Kuala Penyu near here.

''What the Opposition wants to do, in essence, is to kill the proverbial goose that has been laying the golden egg,'' Najib said to the cheers and applause of the large crowd.

He said though Sabah now gets 5% of petroleum revenues, the state receives more in terms of development funds and numerous special financial allocations from the federal government.

''This is all possible when we have a strong mandate,'' Najib said, adding that, among the special funding for the state, was a RM250mil grant that was the federal government's contribution for an international standard convention centre costing some RM500mil in Kota Kinabalu.

At the event, the Prime Minister also launched the 1.2km long Sitompok Bridge costing some RM59.6mil located just outside of Kuala Penyu town.

He said the long bridge was just one of Barisan Nasional's many achievements in Sabah that included reducing the poverty rate from 19.7% in 1999 to 8.1% last year.

Najib said the opposition on the other hand could only be counted on to make unrealistic promises in their manifestos.

GE13: ‘Najib Treats’ or ‘Special A’, anyone?

PETALING JAYA: Malaysians can now start their day with a box of “Najib Treats” or “Special A”.
The boxes of the “election” cereals come with the likeness of this year's general election front-runners Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The boxes were designed by boutique advertising agency BW Creatives, with taglines mirroring that of standard breakfast cereal packaging, but with an election twist.
On “Najib Treats”, the box reads “Breakfast of Champions: Promises in Every Bite” parodying the Prime Minister's classic catchphrase of Janji Ditepati while “Special A” plays on Anwar's call for reforms with the tagline: “The Alternate Breakfast of Choice: Every Bowl Reforms Your Tastebuds!”.
There are 1,000 boxes of each kind available. BW Creatives co-founder Lee Tze Vern, 30, said inspiration for the cereal boxes came from watching the 2008 US presidential elections.
“The Americans are very passionate when it comes to elections. With caricatures, TV spoofs, cartoons and celebrity endorsements, they know how to make fun of a serious situation.
“We shelved the idea until now and are doing this to get young ones interested in the elections because, generally, younger people do not really care about it,” said Lee.
The cereal boxes can be bought online via eBay and PayPal at RM20, including shipping fees.
Half of the proceeds will be given to a charity.

BR1M : Memberi manfaat kepada rakyat

Rakyat Sabah tidak terkecuali dari pemberian bantuan dari kerajaan iaitu BR1M. Usaha kerajaan ini dapat mengukuhkan lagi kedudukan parti BN sebagai kerajaan yang memerintah. Bantuan ini secara tidak langsung dapat mengurangkan beban yang dipikul oleh rakyat. Tidak semua rakyat kita hidup dalam keadaan yang sempurna, oleh itu usaha kerajaan ini amat mendapat sokongan dari pelbagai Pihak.

Bagi PM Datuk Seri Najib Tun Rajak sebagai berkata :

"Apabila ini berlaku, maka cukai untuk kerajaan juga bertambah, dan ini adalah sebenarnya asas mengapa BR1M boleh dilaksanakan,"

Menurut beliau perlaksanaan BR1M adalah untuk pengagihan ekonomi yang baik diantara rakyat. Hanya yang layak sahaja boleh memohan dan semestinya mereka yang bukan berpendapatan tinggi.

Bagi KM kita pula Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman sebagai berkata:

"Kita bertuah kerana mempunyai seorang Perdana Menteri (Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak) yang peka dan sedaya upaya terus memikirkan apa yang terbaik untuk rakyat.

"Kesinambungan kepada dasar dan pelbagai transformasi yang dibawakan kerajaan harus diteruskan melalui sokongan berterusan rakyat kepada BN,"

Tidak perlulah mendengar kata2 yang ditaburkan oleh pihak yang tidak bertanggungjawab.
