KOTA KINABALU: The newly set up Pertubuhan Anak Sabah Bersatu, or PASB in short, vows to protect the rights and welfare of Sabahans.
Stressing the association is ‘neutral’, with no connection either with the ruling Barisan Nasional or the opposition, its president, Duin Tarang, said they hope to help the people of Sabah in matters relating to economy, health or education, to mention some.
“We are just grateful that our effort to register the association is finally done,” he said, showing a letter of approval from the Registrar of Societies dated Feb 8 this year.
Duin was accompanied by his deputy, Amatus Bernadus Anjun and secretary general Dolores Michael.
He said although they are not siding with any political parties, they are willing to lend a helping hand to other non-governmental organisations or government agencies, for so long as it would benefit the people of Sabah.
Duin added that for now, their focus would be channelled towards recruiting as many members as possible, rather than thinking about their political fate.
When asked whether they would be joining any political parties like the Angkatan Perubahan Sabah (APS) and Pakatan Perubahan Sabah (PPS) had done, he said: “We are currently managing our supreme council as requested by the Registrar of Societies. Only after then would we think of our next move.”
Meanwhile, Dolores disclosed that PASB membership is open to all and urged Sabahans to sign up.
