KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Musa Aman will take his oath as Chief Minister at the Istana Negeri later today.
The Sabah Barisan Nasional head is scheduled to take his oath before the Yang di Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at about 5pm.
Musa led the state Barisan to win 48 of the 60 state and 22 of the 25 parliamentary seats in Sunday’s polls.
The new Sabah State Cabinet will be formed within two or three days, said Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman.
ReplyDeleteHe also did not rule out the possibility that new faces would be included in the new cabinet.
Musa, who is also State Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman was sworn in as the Chief Minister before the Head of State, Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at the Istana, here, at 5.10 pm yesterday.
ReplyDeleteReiterating his appreciation to the people of Sabah for giving BN the mandate to continue leading the state, Musa described BN’s victory as a victory of all the people including the party machinery.
ReplyDelete“I pledge to carry out the responsibility as the Chief Minister and to work harder to ensure the needs of more people will be fulfilled as well as to bring about more development to the state,” he said.

ReplyDeleteHe expressed confidence that existing good cooperation between the state and federal government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak will be maintained.
ReplyDelete“We have always enjoyed good relations with the federal government and I often meet and discuss with the Prime Minister who is always willing to listen and also very concerned about the people of Sabah,” he said.
ReplyDeleteMusa, who defended his Sungai Sibuga seat with an 11,569-vote majority, said the new Sabah government, formed with more than two-thirds majority, shows that Sabah is still a fixed deposit for the BN.
ReplyDeleteCommenting on the failure of several BN candidates to defend their seats in some Chinese and Kadazandusun majority areas, Musa said a study would be carried out to determine the causes so as to improve performance during the next election.

Pengerusi Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah Datuk Seri Musa Aman mengangkat sumpah sebagai Ketua Menteri di hadapan Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin di Istana Negeri di sini hari ini.
ReplyDeleteAngkat sumpah berkenaan juga menandakan ia penggal keempat Musa mengetuai kerajaan negeri sejak pelantikan pada 2003 mengikut sistem penggiliran. Musa menjadi Ketua Menteri selepas mengetuai kemenangan BN pada pilihan raya umum 2004.
ReplyDeleteSelepas pilihan raya umum semalam, BN mengekalkan pemerintahan Sabah dengan majoriti dua pertiga apabila menguasai 48 daripada 60 kerusi Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN).
ReplyDeleteBagaimanapun, BN Sabah kali ini kehilangan 12 kerusi DUN berbanding tiga pada PRU 2008. Sementara PKR berjaya menembusi tujuh kawasan DUN iaitu Api-api, Moyog, Kadamaian, Matunggong, Tamparuli, Klias dan Inanam.
ReplyDeleteDAP pula yang sebelum ini memiliki satu kerusi DUN, menambah empat kerusi iaitu Luyang, Kapayan, Sri Tanjong dan Likas. Parti Reformasi Sabah (STAR) pula menang kerusi tunggal di Bingkor.

ReplyDeleteSwearing it would also mark the fourth term of Musa leading the state government since the appointment in 2003, according to the rotation system. Musa became Chief Minister after leading the BN in the 2004 general election.
