Bekalan Diesel Dijamin Cukup Untuk Sabah

Dokumen Sejarah Sabah Penting

Datuk Micheal Emban

Syabas!

State capital parking woes found remedy

Lately, there have been several grouses over parking spaces in the state capital. Luyang Assemblyman Hiew King Cheu made his statement known to City Hall Mayor Abidin Madingkir over lacking of parking lots in and suggested to have a monorail to replace the existing public transportation system.

This issue is not a new thing being talked about. After so many years, I think the previous Mayors have ever mentioned that there should have a clear cut indication or solution for such matter. In fact, I personally think that Abidin has been giving his best effort over so much thing raised by the Oppositions.

Abidin has announced that the City Rapid Transit System will be available in Sabah by October 2015, and that's a good start for us. If you are care enough, he has layed out some strategies to address such a matter. First thing first, the Supply Management Strategies to supply more parking spaces for the public.

The second one would be the Demand Management Strategies in which the problem will be anticipated and managed them in a sustainable manner. How? By making sure motorists are playing their role well. Don't keep expecting the authorities serve you better if you have less initiative to do so.

No, I am not blaming anyone here. I am one of the motorists and road users here. Bear in mind that the City Hall has indeed helping out. Take your time and look at them.

Teruskan usaha BN!

City Rapid Transit (BRT) system to be ready in October 2015

KOTA KINABALU: The City Rapid Transit (BRT) system, work on which is scheduled to begin in September, is expected to be ready by October 2015, according Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir.

Commenting on the proposal of Luyang assemblyman Dr Hiew King Cheu to build a monorail system in the city centre, Abidin said the population in the city cannot support the suggestion.

“In order to sustain a monorail system, it requires a certain number of population, but our population here is not up to the level yet.

“The most important thing is to implement a BRT system, where we will develop three main bus terminals to load buses from southern, eastern and northern part of the city,” he said.

Abidin explained that the southern terminal will be built in Kepayan while northern terminal is the upgraded version of Inanam Terminal, and the eastern terminal will be located in Penampang district.

After all three terminals are completed, all buses and mini buses will not be allowed to enter the city centre except shuttle buses and city buses, he said.

The current Wawasan Terminal will be the permanent station for both shuttle and city buses, according to Abidin.

“Our joint-venture partner will start upgrading the Wawasan Terminal by September, and the buses will be moved to other temporary locations until the three main terminals are completed.”

Abidin said the three new terminals are part of the BRT system, which is under City Hall Public Masterplan Transport.

He was speaking to reporters after visiting Dataran Deasoka Ramadan Bazaar accompanied by City Hall director general Datuk Yeo Boon Hai and CCK Fresh Mart Sdn Bhd area manager Raja Chandra Lingham.

CCK Fresh Mart has contributed a total of 105 aprons to Ramadan Bazaar stall operators which were handed over by Abidin.

Transformasi Wanita

(Insight Sabah)

Chinese Education : Government do cares

The Chinese education in Sabah is amazingly blooming and we can see lots of locals (Bumis and non Chinese) have been actively enrolled their kids to the Chinese schools.

The figure had increased tremendously and this is something we should be proud of.
The Chinese education has been chosen as one of the best ways to acquire various skills for students. Like myself, I am grateful to be one of the non Chinese students who finished my studies in Chinese schools.

Kudos to the Government for its continuous support on developing the Chinese
education in Sabah. People are hardly aware of the support given. Cited an example, a RM13m new school building for SM Kian Kok is on its way. In fact, the BN Government has disbursed RM20,000-RM500,000, especially for the Chinese Independent schools.

Moreover, under the Budget 2013, RM38.96 million has been disbursed for the Chinese schools in Sabah. This has proven that the BN Government has never sidelined or marginalized the Chinese community. Stop being deceived by the Oppositions.

So to say, more allocations are on its way, and the Government will ensure the effectiveness of each formula being taken account into. I believe, the great will come along.

Peniaga disaran jaga kebersihan

Amalkan berjimat-cermat.

Sulu Terrorists Could Return

But Malaysian security forces will be ready this time, eyeing to eliminate them at sea, says Ahmad Nadzer, adding that intelligence gathering has improved since the stunning raid at Tanduo
A Borneo Insider EXCLUSIVE by Clifford Chong
LAHAD DATU: Malaysian security forces in the east coast are all the more vigilant now, even though the dust of the bloody armed intrusion of Kg Tanduo, in Lahad Datu five months ago has settled.
Intelligence claims that the Sulu terrorists are expected to return – this time no longer just the Sabah claim, but more for vengeance.
Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) Director of Intelligence, deputy commissioner, Dato Ahmad Nadzer Nordin (photo) said should they (Sulu) come they would be eliminated at sea, before they can land on our shores.
“We believe they will return,” he said when speaking to the local business community during a dialog organized by the Lahad Datu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LDCCCI) here, recently.
“We expect them to come better armed, but we will be ready and waiting for them and they will not get to land at our shores.”
Ahmad Nadzer said the terrorists would try to sneak through via other routes knowing the tight surveillance and large presence of security forces in the ESSCOM area.
Acknowledging that prevention is better than to act after an untoward incident, he said that preventive measures had been discussed to enhance the security level at various points.
He acknowledged that with a 1784km coastline stretching 10 districts from Kudat to Tawau within the ESSCOM perimeter, the gaps among the eight radar coverage does present some concerns on the effectiveness of preventing an armed incursion from recurring.
Ahmad Nadzer spoke on the importance of demolishing water villages in the state, particularly in the ESSCOM area, and resettling those eligible in other more suitable areas.
He said terrorists have been known to take refuge in the water villages, while waiting for the right time to strike.
“All this while our (police) intelligence indicated water villages were used as hide out for criminals and smugglers, they hide their fire arms, contraband include drugs there, I strongly believe it is high time for us to eradicates such threats once and for all,” he said.
He admitted the February intrusion at Tanduo was due to an intelligence slip up.
“The Special Branch did receive information in November and December last year hinting of the Royal Sulu Force’s intention (to invade Sabah).
“But, since both sides had been living peacefully over decades, this information was not treated seriously, and we paid the price for it eventually.
Describing it as a ‘bitter experience’ whereby 11 Malaysian security personnel perished (eight in the confrontation with the armed groups) during Ops Daulat, Ahmad Nadzer assured that ESSCOM is determined to avoid such incident from recurring in the future.
He said with ESSCOM, which has been exploring and adopting all possible measures, security has tightened and intelligence collecting has improved.
Intelligence gathering has also been strengthened with closer cooperation with the Philippines and Indonesian security forces, while it has also started building a closer relation with the local residents.
And to better achieve such an objective, ESSCOM is currently in the midst of establishing its own SMS system to allow the public to provide valuable information of the presence of any subversive elements or threats, through SMS free of charge.
He continued that in the meantime, members of the public can contact him personally should they stumble upon suspicious group in army fatiques or suspicious large boats with large number of men on board, by dialing his mobile number 019 900 0171, or even email him at nadzer@rmp.gov.my and smartstar2003@yahoo.co.uk, should they have photographs of such suspicious groups or activities.
He assured that all information provided will be seriously looked into by ESSCOM which will then immediately dispatch its personnel to investigate, and to take action immediately should such a need arises.
Responding to questions from LDCCCI Chairman, Mok Tian Sang and Deputy Chairman, Thomas Wong, he said the government had yet to decide on suggestions that the ESSCOM Center be shifted to Sandakan.
Ahmad Nadzer said he personally felt that Lahad Datu was the best location for ESSCOM given its close proximity between Tambisan and Tanjung Labian area with Tawi-Tawi Province of Philippines.
He said the ESSCOM operation needed time (due to several factors) to build up to become 100 per cent operational, adding that once ready, it would boost the local community’s economic and social activities.
Also present at the dialog were, the Sabah United Chinese Chamber of Commerce delegates led by its President, Datuk Sri Panglima Gan Sau Wah.
The objective of the dialog was to provide the business community of east coast a better understanding on the readiness of ESSCOM to protect the interest of the community there, apart from providing a platform for the local residents to play their role of providing vital information to ESSCOM.

5% Oil royalty is sufficient

Once again, Hiew is making another buzz on Sabah's oil royalty issue. Is he seeking some sort of assurance towards something that has been " given assurance " before?

Musa has earlier told that the Federal Government has been so attentive towards Sabah's needs and wants especially the oil royalty issue. In fact, allocation for Sabah has been increasing over years and I see it as a sign that it pays attention to us, and making shift to our requests.

Never forget that Sabah has the biggest budget with RM4.088 billion, and guess what, 12 years given a " clean bill " by Auditor General on government's financial management. Don't you think we have deserved what we deserved?

In this matter, we should look into a more bigger picture. We shouldn't pin point on certain issues and said the Government is not doing anything to protect our rights. Look at how many assistance we have obtained, and the livelihood of Sabahans are improving.

Moreover, Sabah BN government members are happy to note that the allocation for Sabah has been increasing. So we have nothing to lose by now.

Jangan Pandang Sebelah Mata Usaha Kerajaan Meningkatkan Pendapatan Isi Rumah

Semoga Malaysia terus maju...Terima Kasih Barisan Nasional

Good news on housing property

Over the years, the housing prices in Sabah are getting higher and higher. Hence, many quarters are start questioning the Government on the effectiveness of the mechanisms implemented, especially the Oppositions.

But worry no more. The Ministry of Local Government and Housing Sabah has finally decided that the 30% for the housing policy has been put on hold. This good news has been made in view of the skyrocketing prices of lands in Kota Kinabalu and city alike areas.

This come into light when Sabah Housing and Real Estate Association (SHAREDA )convey its views on some of the property buyers, who mainly are low income earners. 30% on hold is something we should be grateful for. In fact, by putting 30% on hold, low income earners have great opportunity to own a house in an affordable prices. This is a positive outcome, by the way.

All in all, we must know that the Government is pushing towards its promises, be it under the 10th MP or during election. Many government projects such as properties and houses are on its way so we doubt? No hassle at all.

The withdrawal of Religious Bill received applause

The much talked about, Administration of the Religion of Islam (Federal Territories) Bill has finally had its say. The Government has decided to withdraw the bill which brought to relief to all.

Well, I must say this is one of the greatest accomplishments made by the Government. Just like what Maximus has said, this showed BN is putting its higher concern on the people. And precisely, they are practicing 1Malaysia concept, which put the country one of the best countries in the world.

As far as we concerned, Malaysia is made up of various cultures and ethnics, and for certain, we have kinds of religious background. So personally, the withdrawal of such bill can alleviate anxiety and tension among people. And even more so, this means the voices of MPs from both Sabah and Sarawak are being heard in the larger crowd.

Who say " Freedom of Religion " is not fulfilled? The answer is clear given. The Government is making its move towards better fulfillment and of course, for the sake of its people. Good Job!

Pentingnya meletakkan tanda harga

30% housing policy put on hold

PENAMPANG: The Ministry of Local Government and Housing has decided to put on hold the proposed implementation of mandatory 30 per cent affordable home units for every housing project in the state.
Its permanent secretary, Datuk Matius Sator, said the decision was taken after discussion with Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Shareda), to allow them to implement their own initiative first.

“We will revisit this policy again to ensure that Shareda fulfils its initiative objective,” he said when officiating at the Afternoon Talk on Affordable Home Scheme in Sabah organized by the association here yesterday.

Matius said the state government had agreed with the federal proposal to implement the 30 per cent policy in April to help the middle income group to own their house in response to the escalating property prices in the state over the last few years.

However, he said it was also aware of the difficulties faced by the developers due to the increasing prices of land and construction materials.

On top of the escalating construction costs, he added that developers were also faced with various other issues including delay in development plans approval and other setbacks that could discourage them from responding positively to the proposed policy.

As prices of houses had become a major issue that had forced the federal government to come up with the policy, he said it was relieving to note that Shareda had come up with their own initiative to provide affordable homes in a more achievable way.

He explained that the association had formulated a private initiated five-year plan, where it pledges to build 10,000 units of affordable houses across the state within the period.
“My ministry is still in the midst of verifying the details and particulars of every individual development project (under the initiative).
“Once this process is completed and agreed upon, we should be seeing the results soon,” he said, adding the houses to be constructed would follow the agreed criteria for the affordable home bracket, including the price range of RM150,000-RM250,000 and the eligibility of buyers.

The talk, which was the first organized by Shareda, featured representatives from key organizations as speakers, to deliberate on issues they are facing in providing affordable houses as well as their ongoing and future projects in the state.

Shareda president Francis Goh, in his talk said the prices of houses in some areas had increased up to more than five folds, mostly due to escalating land prices as well as increase in prices of construction materials.
He noted that skyrocketing land prices had made it impossible for developers to sell landed properties in town areas below RM300,000, as the cost of land alone was already higher that that.

For example, he said a piece of 2.7-acre land located between Star City and the Karamunsing Police Headquarters was valued at almost RM40 million.

Another piece of land farther from the city centre, a 6.26 acres in Bundusan, was priced at RM18 million or almost RM3 million per acre, he said.

Goh also suggested several measures be taken by the government towards addressing the issues in affordable home development, including building more outer ring roads to open less expensive lands outside the town areas.

While the private sector should acknowledge the need for implementing basic minimum wages, he said the government should also consider increasing the salary in the public sector to allow them to have better financial credibility to apply for housing loans.

Bank Negara also needed to relax the stringent loan approval for first-time house buyers and consider increasing the loan repayment period to 35 years, he added.

Government-linked banks, such as Bank Simpanan, EON Bank, Sabah Credit, Sabah Development Bank or even the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) also need to join forces to provide easier home loan schemes to the low income group.

Three other speakers delivered their talks, namely Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad Sabah Regional Office head Mohd Hafiz Sua Abdullah, Jabatan Perumahan Negara deputy director general Datuk Mohamed Yusoff Ghazali and Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia vice president Muzafar Mohamed.

Kuala Besut by-election: Polling fixed for July 24, nomination July 12

PUTRAJAYA: The Election Commission has fixed July 12 for nomination for the Kuala Besut by-election. Polling will be on July 24 with early voting on July 20.
EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusoff (pix) said the nomination of candidates would be carried out at Kompleks Rakan Muda, Kampung Raja, Besut.
The seat fell vacant following the death of Dr Abdul Rahman Mokhtar, 55, on June 26.
There will be eight voting centres and 35 voting channels for the by-election.
The by-election is the first to be held after the May 5 general election.
Abdul Aziz said there would be no live coverage of the ballot counting process because if RTM were to be allowed to telecast the process, other stations would also want to do the same.
"The Commission have discussed the idea and as far as the Kuala Besut by-election is concerned if we want to record the process, it will be handled by the EC and not other parties," he told newsmen.

Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek had proposed a live coverage of the counting process to prove transparency of the EC.

Perangi Rasuah, Kunci Pembangunan Pesat

Akhir sekali, beringat sebelum kena..kalau dah kena, tanggunglah sendiri.
